Make Your Own Waterfall Cards

Last week I did a workshop showing how to make up Waterfall cards using the sheets that are new to the store.

This week the workshop shows how to make your own Waterfall cards. The instructions below are for a basic card, however you can change the measurements to make the cards as big or small as you like.

For this project you will need:

A5 Card, a piece of coordinating paper to put over the card, 4 cardstock backing squares (2” x 2”), 4 coordinating pictures (1 7/8’ x 1 7/8’), 1 cardstock band (3/4” x 4”) and a cardstock strip (9” x 2”) that the waterfall pictures go on.

On your 9” x 2” cardstock strip place scores at 2”, 2 ¾”, 3 ½” and 4 ¼” intervals.

Crease all the score marks and then turn the cardstock over and refold from the other side.

Adhere your coordinating paper onto the front of your A5 card and place the ¾” x 4” cardstock strip so the bottom of the strip is approx 1 ¾” from the bottom of the card and secure in place with brads.

Slide the longest end of the scored cardstock strip behind the band.

Pull down the front of the scored strip and adhere to the front of the band.

Adhere your pictures to the 2” x 2” backing squares and put double sided tape on the wrong side at the top of each picture. Butt the first picture up to the first crease mark and adhere. Do the same with all the pictures until they are all adhered to the waterfall strip.

On the bottom of the cardstock waterfall strip attach some lace or ribbon with a brad to create a pull tag. You can now finish your card off with any other decorations you please. My pictures are from a sheet of wrapping paper that I took a fancy to so your card does not have to be expensive to make.

This is a card I made for my sister in law and spells out her name. I used the Ez Magic Fonts and cut the letters from the same wrapping paper that I had used for the background and put mosaic sticker frames around each letter

I ran this waterfall card sideways for something different and used free papers that I had from a magazine featuring bumble bees.

Mum’s mother’s day card was made from coordinating papers from a Joy paper block. I put Ez cut magic font letters to spell out mum and placed them on glitter white paper.

Our favorite photo subject made this great card for our grandson Tyler’s first birthday, which is in June. I really wanted to personalize this card so downsized some of our favorite photos to the required size and laminated them so they will last. Ez Magic fonts to spell out his name and some lovely bright colors for coordinating and I have a lovely lasting memento to give him for his first birthday.
